Last year, at a cost of $1.5 billion, the U.S. National Security Agency opened two vast new data warehousing complexes in remote Bluffdale, Utah, where it collects, stores and processes the communications records of American citizens under the authority of USA Patriot Act Section 215. Congressional lawmakers are currently debating whether to renew, reform or terminate the controversial provision, which expires June 1.
